Observations

Dear students

Assalam o Alaikum

Having completed the process of conducting mock examination and declaring the results, here are a few very important observations and suggestions to the candidates for the CSS Competitive Examination 2019:

1. Most of the students do not support their statements with facts and figures because of which they cannot justify their point of view.

2.  Several candidates could not write more than 1500 words in the essay.

3. Some students made disproportionately long outline which they did not cover in the course of their essay writing.

4. In the essay on Pakistan's economy: hopes and hurdles, the students confused hopes with suggestions. "John should get married to give my family an heir," is a suggestion but "Jane is pregnant and she would give birth to a baby boy in the mid of August," is a hope

5. In the essay, "Has the Pakistani woman got social and economic securities envisioned for her in Islam?" the candidates did not cite the economic and social securities for women in Islam in specific terms, and could not give a categorical answer.

6. In the paper of Islamic studies, the candidates did not cite relevant verses from the Holy Qur'an and Ahadith. Some candidates seemed to have not studied the subject.

In Islamic studies, almost 50 per cent of candidates could not attempt the second last and the last questions because of poor time management.
